Today is Sunday and after yesterday's gorgeous weather I was hoping to wake up to the same so I could take monkey and bunny out for the day whilst the hubster worked.
I got up after a full nights sleep after bunny slept through (yay) and as i went into the en-suite i could see rain drops on the window, gutted!
I really thought we would have sun!
It was very dull and very wet so a trip to the park was out of the question.
I'd bought some Easter crafty stuff for monkey to do for a day like today so that was our change of plan. He's only used paint once before and that was at Center Parks painting plates, it was quite a disaster then so I'm not sure why i thought now would be any different!
A sheet went down on the floor, then i got the old table out and covered it with a plastic sheet. Monkey kept looking at me wide eyed wondering, i was telling him we will do some painting but he didn't know what i meant. The paint came out and I'd been saving my yogurt pots for this so put the paint in them, them got our Easter cut outs out ready, Monkey saw them and i wasn't being quick enough so the tears started, he can't quite communicate fully yet so as much as he is brilliant at a lot of words we are still in the mist of learning so he gets quite frustrated quickly.
All calm so i got his new apron out....he didn't like it, he quickly spun round running away from me and into the wall banging his head. More tears.
All calm again until i try again to put the apron on him, he was having none of it. More tears.
I gave up.
I then put the apron on bunny, at 18 weeks it drowned her but i needed monkey to see it wasn't going to hurt him. He still wouldn't put it on. So then i had a brain wave.
Monkey loves Postman Pat so i put an episode on and gently coaxed him into the apron, we had a few tears but everything was okay.
I then got all the paint and Monkey had fun painting, we had red, green, yellow and blue and every time he picked a colour i told him what it was and he repeated it.
He painted the Easter cutouts and the table and he did enjoy it but it only lasted 10 minutes before he had had enough. I'm not sure what to expect but i guess for now he enjoyed the painting and we actually got the apron on him.
His new word is painting. Clever Monkey
A mummy of 2, 1 boy (monkey) and 1 girl (bunny). Blogging for myself as my children get older and i don't want to forget the little things.

Date night
So today was date night though technically it was early evening today!
For Christmas i decided to do a date night jar, it has 12 dates for each month, we get ourselves a baby sitter and we spend some time together, just me and him, alone, no kids in tow!
January was a date to Bem Brasil and an evening at the frog and bucket comedy club, it was a fab date and we enjoyed so much!
February which was tonight's was to go to the driving range to whack a few balls and then a meal at the trafford centre as its just over the road!
We bought 100 balls, we decided to go top deck, my thinking was my balls would go further, how wrong was I? Ha hilarious not only did i keep missing the ball i was almost dropping them just over the net below and hitting the golfers underneath me!
I did get 1 lucky shot, it flew so high and so far i couldn't see it....well it went to 150 yards them went in the bunker!
Hubster did well, he had a fair few rubbish hits that i couldn't contain my laughter at but as the balls got hit he improved his technique and got better! I think it was pot luck to be honest ;)
We had a meal at nando's, hubster isn't a big fan but it was better for my diet and its weigh in day tomorrow so i needed to be good, I'm ignoring the garlic bread i ate.
It really does feel weird when we are out as hubster and wife and we don't have monkey and bunny with us, i know its a cliche but nothing is ever the same once you have children. We are blessed with the children we have and the family that helps us out :)

New shoes...
New shoes, that's what we went shopping for on Sunday. Little monkey had been telling me for a week or so that his feet were hurting, I knew he had outgrown his clarks so was just wearing his next trainers.
Off to clarks we went to get him measured, it's not what i expected......
TOTAL MELTDOWN!
My monkey isn't so confident with strangers and i should have realised that this outing would be like the dentist was. He does have tickly feet but i didn't expect the total meltdown he had.
I turned out to be "that" mum.
Everyone was staring, looks of sympathy was coming my way, my boy was screaming, crying, throwing himself on the floor and throwing himself back at me, i was trying to calm him down but their was no reasoning so i had to let him do his thing, even food didn't help!
We managed to try 2 pairs, 1 of which didn't fit which meant he had to try a 3rd pair. Whilst the ever so patient lady got the other shoes i took monkey off to look a shoes for bunny, just to calm him down. It helped a lot and resulted me in buying bunny some shoes.....it's so easy to buy for girls.
All the time i was telling him the lady would be putting another pair of shoes on his feet, it didn't help, cue another meltdown!
We managed to fit the new shoes and I left them on him for ease, so I'm hoping now his feet don't grow for a couple of years.....! Ha

The Dentist....
Today we went to see the dentist, Monkey, Bunny and me!
I also roped in my sister to watch bunny whilst i would be having my teeth looked at.
It was only the 2nd time that monkey had been, the first time i was pregnant with bunny and his first tooth had just cut, but he clamped his mouth shut.
As soon as we entered the room the tears started, he's quite a shy boy with new people and being faced with 3 new people all in blue gowns probably isn't the easiest of things to face when your only 20 months old.
He cried and cried then cried some more, my poor boy was hysterical when i got on the bed to lie down, this was even after me reassuring him all morning that mummy was going to have her teeth looked at and then it was monkeys turn.
I sat monkey on the bed but the screams started (again) and there was just no reasoning, he would not let the dentist see his mouth, he was saying down, down so i got him down then he pointed to the chair where my sister was with bunny, i put him on it and he wanted me to sit with him.
The dentists assistant gave him a sticker for being a big boy. He just screwed it up!
I'm just glad he likes brushing his teeth, he lets me do them for him and then he has his turn.
My toothache turns out to be a filling i need, gutted. I hate the dentist but i had to be brave in front of the kids!
The dentist and his 2 assistants said bye ti monkey, he promptly stopped crying and waved......little tinker!

A monkey & A bunny
That's what i have a monkey and a bunny!
2 children, 1 boy & 1 girl.
This is it, this is my life (plus husband) and i couldn't be more happier (and tired)
I've tried to blogg, it doesn't happen, you can see that from my previous posts, the last one was a year ago but i want to.
I'm no writer in fact far from it but i'm so scared about forgetting the good stuff i want to try and just write it down, somewhere.
Every single day my children make me laugh or smile and the love i have for them i just can't put in words, if you have children you'll be agreeing with me.
So a name change because it makes sense, my 20 month old boy IS a monkey and my 14 week old girl is my little bunny!
My monkey has just gone to bed,he's had an exciting day with Granny & Grampy today, he loves them so much and has recently learnt to say nana!! He's talking to us over the monitor at the minute, it's so cute. He doesn't cry and he self settles but just hearing him chatter away is lovely, i'd love to know what he was saying :)
Bunny is a sleep in her bouncy chair, we had a busy day today, it was the craft fair at event city so i took her with me and carried her in the sling, so many people told me how beautiful she is, of course i know that but it's also nice to hear, she was very well behaved for mummy too!
