It was an easy decision what i would like to do, it was hard learning i shouldn't try and run before i can walk!!
He's a gorgeous boy and an avid football fan, so their was never any doubt the cake would be football themed!!
This was to be only my 2nd birthday cake i had ever made, i needed lots of look.
I decided to do 2 tiers, i'd done cupcakes for my neice so wanted to do something different for Keane, i decided to do a green bottom and half a football on top.
I have achieved it, you can just tell i'm a beginner!!
On Saturday i thought i'd make a football model in the shape of Keane........EPIC FAIL.
He looked okay but when the cake was made he was just too big to fit on the cake, he's still on the cake, just hidden at the back with no legs or arms....one useless footballer :)
The cake is a Maisie recipe, the bottom tier is chocolate fudge cake with chocolate buttercream icing AND OMG it tastes devine!!
The small top tier is another Maisie recipe but is a vanilla cake with buttercream icingand sandwiched with buttercream and jam and again OMG it tastes devine!!
I hope my nephew likes it, the "grass" is stretched in places and you can tell its an amature jobby but all in all i'm pretty pleased with it, i just hope the birthday boy loves it :)
